
Ingredients
- 2 cups flour
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 4 large eggs
- 2 cups sugar
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 2 tsp of vanilla
- 1/2 cups or one stick unsalted butter
- 1 cup whole milk
Directions
- Mix flour and baking powder into a bowl and put aside
- In a separate bowl beat together eggs, sugar, salt and vanilla til light and fluffy
- Fold in flour mixture to egg mixture. Make sure not to overwork mixture. Set aside
- In a pot add milk and butter and heat to the beginning of a boil
- Pour milk mixture into the egg and flour mixture a little at a time so the eggs don’t cook.
- Pour mixture into a 9″x13″ pan and bake at 350 degrees F for 30-40 minutes, or until toothpick comes out clean.
- Allow to cool and serve with fruit, whipped cream or frosting
Note: This is a very light cake and will only last for about 2-3 days before getting dry. Pop it into the microwave to freshen it up if needed.
